This spring semester, across all Provider Contract Food Service locations, Founder Rodney Couch led the continued tradition of the “Be a Superhero” event—an immersive dining experience that brings communities together for a greater purpose.
Originally launched in 2019, this signature initiative was created to deliver a unified, chef-driven dining experience while supporting a powerful cause: helping end childhood hunger through No Kid Hungry.
The “Be a Superhero” event goes far beyond the plate. Each dining hall was transformed into an engaging, high-energy environment where students and team members could fully step into the theme.
Interactive photo booth stations gave guests the chance to capture the moment - masks on, capes up, and energy high. These elements helped create a memorable campus dining experience that blended food, fun, and community engagement.
At the heart of the event was a chef-curated menu designed to match the excitement of the theme while delivering the quality Provider is known for.
Menu highlights included:
Thor’s Smashed Potatoes
Captain America Shield Pizza
Hulk Smashburgers
And of course, no superhero feast is complete without dessert, an irresistible lineup that guests were sure to save room for.
This combination of creative menu development and high-quality execution reflects Provider’s commitment to delivering elevated dining experiences in every setting.
Beyond the immersive experience, the event made a real impact. For every meal swipe, $1 was donated, with an additional $1 contributed for each guest who dressed in theme.
Thanks to the incredible participation from students and team members, Provider locations collectively raised over $1,000 in support of No Kid Hungry - helping fight childhood hunger across the country.
What began as a single initiative has evolved into a defining tradition across Provider locations. The “Be a Superhero” event highlights the power of campus dining programs to go beyond daily service, creating meaningful connections, driving engagement, and supporting impactful causes.
By combining innovative culinary experiences, themed events, and community-driven initiatives, Provider Contract Food Service continues to redefine what dining can look like on campus.
Thank you to every guest and team member who showed up, dressed up, and helped make this event truly unforgettable.
