For 24 years, Lisa Cabrera has been a steady presence for Provider at California Baptist University, helping shape daily dining experiences for every guest. As Chef de Cuisine, she leads with a focus on consistency, growth and the meaningful connections food can create within campus community.


In the fast rhythm of kitchen service, where teamwork and precision are vital, Cabrera’s leadership is often reflected in the everyday moments guiding her team through busy service periods, refining recipes and ensuring each meal meets the standards she sets for quality and care.


A commitment to continuous improvement has remained central to her approach throughout her culinary career. Cabrera said she finds motivation in the creative process and in the satisfaction that comes from seeing guests genuinely enjoy the meals she helps prepare.

“My inspiration comes from always wanting to create and make things better, when I am in the kitchen, I want the food to taste its best. The most satisfying moment is seeing the people I am cooking for truly enjoy the experience.”
